The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers was established in November 1891. Local #611 was chartered on February 7, 1914 and has over 2,500 members. Benefits vary between A and BA members as well as for specific contracts. But all members receive representation, a fair grievance procedure, protection from employer abuse and higher wages and better benefits that non-union workers. Training is available for all facets of the electrical trade, including safety, technical, apprenticeships and certifications, labor education and business training. Various scholarships are also offered through the IBEW and services can be obtained through the AFL-CIO.
